HUGE and INTRUSIVE door. What for?

We all know its a compact micro and love the idea. It fits perfectly in older kitchens with cabinets that are too low for newer full-size units. BUT the door is HUGE and INTRUSIVE. Seems you are trying to make a compact unit look huge. Why? The selling point is the compact feature. Landlords have been waiting years for this. Means not having to tear up older cabinets to install an over range micro. Just make the door smaller and more realistic. THANK YOU

This microwave saved us thousands of dollars. About a year ago we bought a small townhouse to be near our ailing daughter. It was built in 1986 and the kitchen cabinets were never replaced so they are typical builder quality of that era. There was an old fridge and an aged stove with a range hood above it. A full size over-range microwave wouldnt fit vertically so we considered replacing all the cabinets. A renovator pronounced the cabinets sturdy so my wife painted the old cabinets and we opted for this low-profile microwave over a new LG range accompanied by a new LG fridge and dishwasher. We have had other LG appliances in previous homes and always found them to be top quality. But a review needs at least one negative right? In our case its the 19 inch depth of the unit. It projects 7 inches beyond the standard cabinet depth of 12 inches into our narrow galley-style kitchen. Its not a big deal but looks a little awkward sticking out that far. My guess is that its due to the workings of the unit being behind the oven compartment instead of below it as in a standard height microwave. Other than that it was easty to install works well heats quietly and quickly. and looks great with our other LG appliances.
